Bottlebrush - Legend of the Fall®

Fothergilla x intermedia 'ALICE'

The white brush like flowers for which Bottlebrush is named, bring a delightfully honey-scented spring treat to your landscape. Attract pollinators with this native shrub. Although the oval, deeply veined green spring foliage is quite lovely, Legend of the Fall® boasts brilliant, glowing hues of orange, yellow, and red autumn foliage. Legendary, indeed! The branching structure provides winter interest. Drought tolerant once established, deer resistant, too! Blooms on old wood. Use in mixed borders, foundation plantings and woodland gardens

Our plants come with extra large and fibrous root systems, ready to plant and flourish!

Product questions

No questions yet. Be the first to ask the question!

Moist, acidic soils - good drainage is imperative.

Little pruning is required - prune after flowering if desired. Avoid cutting into thick stems unless removing them entirely, as recovery will be slow.

Though tolerant of shade, flowering and fall color are best with at least some sun each day. Plant where its fragrance can be enjoyed.
