With glossy green foliage, Chicagoland Green is an evergreen which resembles English Boxwood. Compact form suitable for hedges, foundation planting, mass planting, and containers.  Tolerates pruning, shearing and is ideal for topiary.  Once established, tolerates some drought and dry soil conditions

Adaptable in terms of pH.  Best growth is in moderately moist, cool, fertile soils.

Does not require pruning, but tolerates if well.  Prune in spring before new growth begins, if desired.   Keep watered after pruning to minimize browning.  This is also an effective strategy to minimize winter damage to foliage in cold areas.

Tolerates heat and drought once established.
