Microbiota decussata

Commonly known as Siberian cypress, this shrub resembles a cross between creeping juniper and a fern. Fine textured and soft to the touch, the brilliant green foliage turns to a russet-purple in winter. Microbiota Celtic Pride is drought tolerant once established. Beautiful display, yet no pruning required. Suitable for groundcover, edging, foundation plantings, mass plantings. Deer resistant.

Moist, well-drained soils are preferred. Tolerates some dryness in soil once established.

Control spread by pruning out branches as required.

Though its color and habit is best with a minimum of six hours of sun, microbiota tolerates shade better than most conifers. Fine textured foliage is soft to the touch.
