Arborvitae - North Pole®

Thuja occidentalis 'Art Boe'

The North Pole® Arborvitae exhibits a tight upright and columnar habit that is perfect for narrow sites. This low maintenance evergreen has excellent cold hardiness and resists winter burn. An excellent landscape plant that is commonly used as a specimen or screen, in mixed borders or hedges. The North Pole® Arborvitae is more narrow than the Emerald Green Arb, and displays dark green foliage, even through the winter.

Best growth in moderately moist, cool, fertile soils.  Adaptable in terms of pH.

Does not strictly require pruning, though it tolerates it well.  Prune in spring before new growth begins, if desired.  Keep watered after pruning to minimize browning.  This is also an effective strategy to minimize winter damage to foliage in cold areas.

Heat and drought tolerant once established.
