Happy Jack® is an extremely easy-to-grow clematis with beautiful color and large flowers. Simply give this vine a trellis and watch it climb! Velvety plum-purple flowers with intriguing center highlights and bright yellow stamens characterize this version of the ever-popular 'Jackmanii' clematis. This early, long-flowering beauty will bloom from mid-summer into fall, and is noted for large (3-5"), intense purple flowers. It blooms on both new and old wood. Simply prune this Clematis back to 2 feet each spring, and your maintenance is complete.

The right soil is key to success with clematis. It must be cool, and well-drained but moist.

Prune back to 2' in spring.

"Feet in the shade, head in the sun" - that's the old adage for success with clematis. This vine will thrive if mulch, a rock, or neighboring plants are positioned to keep the roots and base of the plant in cool, shaded conditions, while the leafy vines themselves bask in the sun. Provide a sturdy structure for vines to climb on at planting time.
