Raspberry - Polka

Rubus idaeus 'Polka'

Deep dark red berries are deliciously sweet. A primocane which offers one of the most abundant autumn crops, 'Polka' will produce a heavy crop on virtually thorn less stems.  Once established, harvest from late July through October. Tolerates just about any type of soil.

As a primocane (everbearing) plant, this raspberry will blossom and fruit on first year’s growth. Raspberry plants will generate new canes each growing season. Everbearing raspberries will produce berries on first year's growth and again the second year. Simply prune 2nd year canes to the ground in late winter, and let the growing cycle repeat itself in the upcoming season.

We do not advise that you plant raspberries near tomatoes, eggplant, peppers or potatoes, or in a location where those plants have been grown in the previous 4-5 years. The reason being is that the soil may contain common blights and fungal diseases such as Verticillium, which are associated with those plants, and can easily spread to the Raspberry.

Our plants come with extra large and fibrous root systems, ready to plant and flourish!
